The Story So Far
After graduating from McGill University in 1982, Arnie obtained a position at a major Montreal accounting firm.
He then moved on to become Financial Controller for a Montreal manufacturing concern.
Arnie joined ScotiaMcLeod (then known as McLeod Young Weir) in August 1987.
As a rookie, Arnie witnessed first hand the infamous market crash of October 19th, 1987 better known as Black Monday. That milestone event and its aftermath provided Arnie with valuable lessons and a sense of vigilance toward risk management and trusted financial solutions which he continues to apply to this day. His overriding goal at all times is to create long-term strategies for investors’ unique set of financial needs and circumstances.
Compassion and Caring for the Community
In 1978, Arnie answered a "calling"…He enrolled in the Paramedic program at Dawson College.
He was an Emergency Responder for 20 years with Urgences Santé. Arnie provided life saving care to thousands of people in Montreal, the Laurentians and the Eastern Townships.
He was promoted to the rank of Chief of Emergency Medical Services for the City of Cote-St-Luc.
He also served as a flight medic on numerous critical organ transplant missions.
Over two decades, Arnie has been active in numerous community causes and charities. For instance he served as co-president of a women's shelter and he has been a member of various budget committees for community organizations in Montreal.
He is a financial contributor to numerous organizations including the World Wildlife Federation, the Morgan Arboretum and various hospital and illness foundations.

Arnie's expertise has also been sought out by various media organizations including CTV News.
Arnie travels extensively. His trips have included journeys to South and Central America (Chile, Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, Venezuela, Panama, Mexico), Europe and the Middle-East (Poland, Germany, Greece, Israel, Italy, France, England, Switzerland, and Austria), Asia (Hong Kong and mainland China) and most of the Caribbean Islands. He enjoys seeking out new cultural experiences as well as meeting new and interesting people (Bill Clinton, Warren Buffet, Jerry Seinfeld, and David Steinberg – to name a few) all the while remaining on the lookout for exciting investment opportunities at home and abroad.
Relaxation for Arnie comes when he’s sitting by a lake, reading a spy novel in the company of his wife of 14 years Stephanie, or when he remembers his favorite four-legged companions Daisy and Shayna.
